Stand Up 4 Transportation: RTD

‚ÄčThe governor of Colorado officially proclaimed April 9 as Stand Up for Transportation day. The Regional Transportation District (RTD) and its transportation partners marked the day with a unity parade and rally. Other local governments have also officially proclaimed the day including:

  • City and County of Denver
  • City of Westminster
  • City and County of Bloomfield
  • City of Commerce City
  • City of Boulder
  • City of Centennial
  • City of Greenwood Village
  • City of Lone Tree

RTD and its partners staged a unity, visible show of support for long-term federal transportation funding started with a unity parade down the 16th Street Mall from Market Street to Union Station. A rally on the Wynkoop Plaza at Union Station took place right after the parade. The rally featured speakers from a cross-section of the community sharing brief comments about the importance of transportation in their lives. Denver Mayor Michael Hancock and other regional leaders participated in the parade and rally.Along with RTD, more than 300 transportation partners from across the nation marked the day with a variety of activities in many other cities including Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Dallas, Atlanta, New Jersey, Phoenix, Charlotte, Boston, Salt Lake City and others.
