Stand Up 4 Transportation: YCAT

April 9, 2015 is Stand Up 4 Transportation Day. The Yuma County Intergovernmental Public Transportation Authority (YCIPTA) and transit systems nationwide are strongly urging the U.S. Congress to enact a new multi-year authorization bill that provides dedicated funding and ensures the future growth of the federal transit program.

In support of Stand Up 4 Transportation Day, YCIPTA will be providing free bus rides to all passengers, all day long, on any YCAT fixed and flex route bus in Yuma and Eastern Imperial Counties. To receive a free ride on the 9th, passengers are asked to complete a proclamation of support and return it to their driver upon boarding. If a passenger requires multiple buses to complete a trip, one form per bus will be required. Proclamations of support will be available on the buses by Monday, April 6th and at the Yuma County Libraries, Downtown Yuma Transit Center (on April 9, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), or can be downloaded on our website at www.ycat.az.gov and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/TheYCAT.

YCIPTA will also be participating in the first-ever Stand Up 4 Transportation Parade on April 9th in Phoenix, Arizona. Anyone can sign the online petition to support transportation infrastructure funding at valleymetro.org/connected or follow activities at #StandUp4Transportation or #SU4T.
