The Most Popular Forms of Public Transportation

In the United States, more than 7.5 million American workers - or 5 percent of the workforce - use public transportation as their primary means of getting to work. Buses are by far the most popular type of public transportation, with 3.7 million workers commuting by bus daily. Among the remaining commuters who rely on public transit, 2.7 million use subways, 839,000 take streetcars or trolleys and 53,000 use public ferries.
