DART Takes Action Against Human Trafficking
Beginning with a board member’s suggestion in 2013 DART has established a Human Trafficking Task Force that is making efforts to educate. In October they held a meeting to discuss the formation of a coalition. The attendees included: DART, DCTA, TRE, AMTRAK, SWTA, Megabus, Greyhound, Dallas Police Department, Houston Metro, Department of Transportation 911, Children at Risk, New Friends New Life, Dallas Women’s Foundation and Mosaic Family Services
Denver Union Station Bus Concourse Awarded Prestigious LEED® Green Building Certification
The Regional Transportation District has been awarded LEED® Gold certification for the Union Station Bus Concourse. The agency held a plaque dedication today to recognize the achievement. The LEED rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the foremost program for buildings, homes and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained and operated for improved environmental and human health performance.

Guide Dog Puppy Club Outing With Colorado Springs Mountain Metropolitan Transit
Leading with Love, the local Guide Dogs for the Blind puppy raising club in Colorado Springs, will be conducting their monthly outing on Monday, November 17th. The club, consisting of up to nine guide dog puppies in training, will be riding the Colorado Springs Mountain Metropolitan Transit Route 3 bus to Manitou Springs to walk around, get used to riding the bus, and to do some obedience exercises.

Denver –The Regional Transportation District (RTD) and Pepsi, Orange Crush and Gatorade are teaming up to unveil two wrapped light rail trains featuring local NFL players. The trains advertise the sodas Orange Crush and Pepsi, and sports drink Gatorade and feature larger-than-life images of the NFL players. Julius Thomas will be on hand to help reveal the special trains.
