ABQ RIDE may be celebrating a golden anniversary in 2015, but the department’s roots actually go back 87 years. That’s when the department’s forerunner, the privately-owned Albuquerque Bus Company first began service. On Jan. 1, 1928, buses that only days before had been plying the streets of Casper, Wyoming were now providing Albuquerque with regular bus service.

Capital Metro Celebrates 30 Years Of Service
Capital Metro is celebrating 30 years of service to Austin and surrounding communities around Central Texas this year. Founded in July 1985, the agency has led the way in bringing better transit options and mobility to the rapidly growing region through its partnerships with the city, community and other transportation providers, and also through its pursuit, and wins, of tens of millions of dollars in state and federal funds that have allowed it to expand service offering to the public.

The T Appoints Vice President of Operations and Maintenance
Shawn M. Donaghy has been appointed Vice President of Operations and Maintenance of the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) to direct and coordinate The T’s day-to-day Bus Operations, Mobility Impaired Services (MITS), Maintenance and Security functions. He will report to The T’s President Paul Ballard.
