Black River Area Development Public Transit Celebrating 40th Anniversary
In 1975, Black River Area Development Corporation started a Public Transportation Program to provide bus services to the public in Randolph, Clay and Lawrence counties. This program received National Model Project recognition. Public Transit’s funding to provide these services comes through the Federal Transit Administration and the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department. BRAD consistently strives for outstanding passenger safety and drivers are trained and updated regularly on the latest in transit safety issues. The bus facility, located at 1610 Old County Road, has been improved and updated over the last few years to ensure buses are in excellence operating condition.
