CAP METRO: Bus Service Inspector

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

This position will provide leadership within a team environment to achieve excellent customer service for all Capital Metro customers. Oversee and maintain safe and scheduled operations of bus services and oversee contractor transportation supervisors and bus operators.

SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE


Desired Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business or related field. Related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in bus operations with a public transit agency.
  • Two (2) years of supervisory transit operations experience.
  • Must be able to obtain valid Texas Driver’s License, Class B, CDL.

Desired Skills & Abilities

  • Basic PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to listen and provide feedback, to communicate goals and objectives within a team environment, and to build relationships for trust and respect.
  • •Interpersonal skills: coaching, facilitator, and presentation skills. Working knowledge of labor agreement.
  • Ability to train and develop team members for success.
  • Excellent management skills including ability to hold others and self-accountable, to make difficult decisions, when necessary, to focus on results, to analyze data, and to plan, develop, and implement formal work plans.
  • Ability to problem-solve under stressful conditions and tight timelines and ability to interact with customers and public including, community groups and Board of Directors advisory committees.
