CAP METRO: Project and Planning Manager

If so, we want to hear from you! CapMetro is looking for a highly motivated, dynamic individual to coordinate projects and initiatives in our Demand Response division.

The Project and Planning Manager is responsible for the successful coordination of new and existing projects, programs, and initiatives impacting the Demand Response division.  This position leads and supports multiple parallel activities of all sizes through the ideation, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure phases. Project management activities tie closely with service planning in this role as it is situated within CapMetro operations. Projects vary widely and include emerging opportunities such as Demand Response fleet electrification, autonomous vehicle pilots, non-member city Pickup expansion projects, software implementation coordination, MetroBike program expansion, partnerships with the City of Austin, and more. This variety of projects require ongoing coordination across the agency and beyond with stakeholders from Planning, Community Engagement, Marketing and Communications, ATP, non-profits, advisory committees, and other entities impacted by the exciting work we do to build Capital Metro’s reputation as a valued community partner.

Desired Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a related field. Master’s degree in Business, Government, Transportation Planning, Public Relations or similar field preferred. Related experience may substitute for educational requirements on a year for year basis up to four (4) years.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in business or project management
  • Direct experience managing complex projects and Project Management Certification preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications including Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and other software.
