Description

The Director of transportation strategize, manage, and continually refine the transportation operations for Disability Services, Inc dba Envida. Direct/manage employees, provide oversight to daily operations, ensure the fleet/vehicles utilization are maximum to meet organization’s objectives and goals.

Primary Duties

  • Coordinate daily transportation operations and direct major projects.
  • Oversight of FTA, TSA, OSHA and CDOT regulations.
  • Manage the Transportation Team with responsibilities to include, but not limited to delegating tasks, monitoring performance, conducting regular follow-ups with business objectives.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the company, help analyze or provide data for financial reports, maintain a high quality of customer service, be able to identify trends, opportunities, and come into the position with a mindset of continued optimization of the transportation network through research, examining various methodologies in management, and efficiencies with workflow processes.
  • Oversee expenses and budget, both day-to-day and project based, for the Transit department ensuring they are in line and in agreement with the Director of Finance and the CEO. Maintain awareness of all financial transit transactions.
  • In collaboration with the Transit Manager and Fleet Coordinator, ensure and provide overall management and direction of fleet and that all requirements and on-going checks are fulfilled
  • Maintain and drive compliance in accordance with all state and federal regulations. Address safety concerns and customers complaints promptly.
  • With the help of the Director of Human Resources, assist with the recruitment and training of employees within the Transportation department and provide on-going training and development and ensure that certifications are updated when necessary.
  • Person in this position should be a self-starter, proactive, and effectively execute on tasks and projects in a timely manner. Must be comfortable with transit software tools to include the ability to synthesize data from multiple resources and distill and/or present data when requested on a normal reoccurring basis.
  • Lead monthly Driver’s Meeting – typically outside normal day-to-day hours to accommodate driver schedules
  • Lead weekly Transit Meetings
  • Participate in monthly Board Meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Desired Education & Experience

  • Strong comfort level of general IT related tasks in both hardware and software (old and implementing new)
  • Experience with fleet management
  • Experience with scheduling
  • Experience with dispatching
  • Experience with Route Match and/or other transportation software
  • Experience with SQL and GIS is a plus
  • 5+ years’ experience
