Quality Assurance Specialist II, Vehicle Maintenance

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Are you experienced with heavy vehicle or bus maintenance? Have you worked with a transit authority or major fleet operator?

The Quality Assurance Specialist II reports directly to the Superintendent, VM, QA and Data. This position assures fleet maintenance quality assurance with control by conducting in-plant inspections, monitoring quality of rail, bus and paratransit vehicle maintenance work performed by contractors, auditing vehicle conditions for owned and contracted fleet equipment; including warranty issues, fleet defects, retrofits, parts and supplies.

Desired Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in automotive engineering, vehicle maintenance or related field. Related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four years. Coursework in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance theory and repair including body, frame and chassis, axles, steering, brakes, electrical, engines, transmissions, air systems, or other pertinent course work.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in bus or heavy vehicle maintenance repair including two (2) years at Capital Metro or another transit or fleet operation.
  • Experience in bus or heavy vehicle inspection preferred.
  • Experience in operating various types of transit buses, performing visual and measured inspections on transit buses.
  • A valid Class B CDL Texas Driver’s License with a P endorsement is preferred.
